Why I started this site, and what I plan to write about.
Every developer eventually builds a personal site. This one is mine.
Why bother?
Writing things down is the best way I know to check whether I actually understand them. If I can’t explain something in a few paragraphs, I probably have more digging to do.
It’s also a place to keep the notes I’d otherwise lose: the fix for that odd build error, the trick that made a test suite twice as fast, the book chapter that changed how I think about a problem.
What to expect
- Write-ups of things I’ve built or broken
- Notes on back-end systems, testing and developer tooling
- The occasional tangent into whatever I’m curious about
